The 2010 Faithful Circle Quilters Guild Quilt Show was held at the First Presbyterian Church of Howard County April 29-30, and May 1, 2010.

 

Winners

Large Quilts

  • 1st Place: Carolyn May for her Baltimore Album
  • 2nd Place: Virginia Fry, 1852 Friendship Quilt
  • 3rd Place: Della LeConte, Civil War Stars

Medium Quilts 

  • 1st Place: Sherrin Muray, Sunset Glow
  • 2nd Place: Marcia Gratton, Blue Collection
  • 3rd Place: Alka Mital, Waterlilies Forever

Small Quilts 

  • 1st Place: Joyce Ritter, Still Light
  • 2nd Place: Shelia Reiss, Selena and Sol
  • 3rd Place: Jonnifer Lennon for her Candace and Justin Portrait

Other 

  • 1st Place: Jane Sinek for her Mosaic Jacket

Our raffle baskets were won by L.A. Hughes, Michele Eder, B. Chasson, and Sue Cox and the winner of our spectacular raffle quilt "Peaceful Garden" was Mary Santee of Syracuse, NY.

Events

Our quilt show featured over 300 beautiful quilts, free demonstrations, vendors, raffle baskets, peddler's table and a silent auction (some with buy-it-now options!). 

New This Year, the Food Tent was a big hit!

   Raffle Quilt

Each show year, we create a quilt to be raffled. Ticket sales help to cover some of our expenses such as member directories, the website, and others. This year, our raffle quilt won several awards!

2010 Maryland State Fair

  • Reserve Champion

  • Champion in the Large Quilt Category

  • Blue Ribbon in the Group Quilt (Traditional)

       Demonstrations 

    We had some great demonstrations throughout the quilt show, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. These included demos and instructions on English paper piecing, scrap quilts, raw edge and wool felt appliqué, using craft foam and mini twistable crayons,  making three-dimensional flowers and unique  placemats, creating "designer fabric", and much more!
