Salute Past President
IRMA BAST
|
We have to thank FCQ's lucky stars for bringing Irma to our guild. First off
--she's a gifted quilter. Her quilts show a flair for design and color, and
somehow reflect her bright smile and upbeat personality. Irma has brought a
lot of good ideas and fun events to the guild. The annual retreat was her
idea and who can forget the Too Quirky Quilters! Best of all, she keeps
it all together with a real respect for our bylaws and policies. I'm surely
going to miss looking to Irma at meetings for a clarification on a rule or
guild bylaw. She kept us on a true course, laughing all the way, and I know
her good humor and sense of style will benefit yet another quilting group
wherever life takes her. Best wishes! | MONICA THOMAS
Irma is a very warm-hearted person who listens thoughtfully yet has a gift of gab whether talking one-on-one or to a large group. Guild members owe Irma special thanks for inaugurating our annual retreat. Together, we've shared so many wonderful memories, especially roasting marshmallows around the campfire at night (it's been decades since I've done that!!!). I'm going to miss her and want to wish her the best of everything--health, happiness, and good luck. She certainly deserves it. |

What a great asset Irma has been to our guild and what a great friend. In her quilting, she has managed to develop a great diversity of skills--not afraid to try anything big or small. And she's so willing to share her knowledge with all of us. What an inspiration! Through all of life's challenges Irma has maintained her strength, her perspective and that wacky, lovable sense of humor. Gonna miss you, Irma. |

Irma is such a special person and has been a real asset to our guild.... I will be sad when she moves and I know everyone in
FCQ feels the same way. She is a wonderful quilter and always willing
to share her knowledge with everyone. I wish her much happiness in her new
home and hope that she will come back for a visit.

I remember when Irma first attended a meeting over four years ago. She introduced herself when Georgia asked if there were any guests present. My impression was of a very friendly, warm person who would be a terrific addition to our group. Little did I know what a contribution she would make! Two years later she became our president and our guild has benefited greatly from her leadership. Her enthusiasm for quilting is contagious. | JEANNE SMITH
