Come Quilt - Meetings and - Ask-A-Quilter MEMBER SERVICES:
FAITHFUL CIRCLE |
FCQ meetings are held twice weekly: Monday evenings from 7-9 pm (Night Group) and Thursday mornings from 10 am-noon (Day Group). Most members attend one or the other meeting, but some attend both. Visitors are always welcome and anyone interested may join the guild at any time. Meetings are held at the First Presbyterian Church (Route 108 and 29) in Columbia (see MAP). Ample parking is available behind the church. A typical guild meeting runs about two hours. Most of our members live near Columbia and their level of quilting experience varies widely. The meeting room is set with long tables and members work on their own quilts, assist other members with quilt basting, or browse the lending library. Sometimes we have refreshments...and we always laugh a lot. Demos and trunk shows are occasionally scheduled in addition to the weekly business meeting and Show-and-Tell. The Day Group works on Love Quilts the first Thursday of each month. Special events include a June potluck supper (N) and luncheon (D) which includes the installation of officers. A holiday party is held in December. In early November, a silent auction benefits the First Presbyterian Church's Thanksgiving basket project.
Snow Policy
If Howard County schools are closed due to inclement weather, there is no meeting that day. If Howard County Schools have a delayed opening, the Thursday Group does not meet. If Howard County Schools close early, the Monday group does not meet.
